The quickest way to do that is to find Bamboo Strikes hidden across the island. The best way to keep your options open is to permanently raise your Resolve. Each use of a combat or life-granting skill takes one or more pieces of Resolve from the amount you have available.

In order to stay effective - and alive - in combat you’ll need plenty of this limited resource. Abilities and healing in Ghost of Tsushima both pull from the same resource: your Resolve.
